Our 75th Year of Community Service
We will hold our next meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2013, 7:30pm at the Cross Island Y, 238-10 Hillside Ave., Bellerose. Guest Speaker will be Maria DeMarco Begley, Elder Law and Estate Planning.

The following alert was received from the 105th Precinct on Sept. 22, 2012:
We have two male whites approx. 30 & 50 yrs old posing as plumbers. They are wearing reflective vest and carrying a walkie-talkie. They look very professional. They will state that your water is leaking and they need to take a look, they will ask you to turn on the spigot outside while the other goes into the basement. While you are being distracted outside the perp inside is ransacking your home. Their target is the elderly

Seniors can receive free flu shots courtesy of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and NORC WOW at the HSBC bank located at 257-15 Union Turnpike in The Glen Oaks Shopping Center. Please phone (718)-347-2244 to schedule an appointment. If you are a homebound member of NORC WOW, a nurse can administer the vaccine to you in your own home.
The 105th Pct. Crime Prevention Officer will be conducting FREE VIN Etching & Bicycle Registration (engraving) at the 105th Precinct Stationhouse on Saturdays throughout the summer between 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM.These programs will make your car and bicycle undesirable to thieves, and you may get an insurance discount
for the VIN Etching (check with your insurance company).
Remember to also bring your portable electronics (laptop, GPS, iPad, Kindle, etc.) for FREE registration in the Operation IDentification Program.
